How does my teen get confirmed at Saint Bartholomew? Two years of CREW (formally known as Encounter) , four confirmation sessions, and attending a retreat are required for your teen to be confirmed.
What is the attendance policy?
Since there are only four sessions no sessions can be missed, and they must attened their retreat on the date that is given at the parent meetings.
What if my teen cannot make the retreat due to a scheduling conflict?
please go to your coaches and directors ahead of time expressing this church mandatory requirement. Most coaches and directors are accomodating. If not please find a another parish that has retreat dates availble before our confirmation date,and inform Lauren at lroyle@st-bart.org.
What is the dress code for confirmation?
Ladies- modest dresses, skirts or a blouse with dress pants. The dresses cannot be black, sleeveless, have straps, and must be knee length.
Men- Dress shirt, dress pants and tie. Men may also where a suit if they choose.
Can there be more than one sponsor?
There can only be one sponsor.
What qualifications must my sponsor meet?
The sponsor must be catholic, above the age of 16, follows and believes all the Catholic church teachings, In good standing with the Catholic Church, if married must be married in the Catholic Church. If the sponsor is not married the sponsor cannot be living with signifcant other.
Can a parent, or sibling be a sponsor?
A parent cannot be a sponsor, but a sibling can.
How do I register? Registration will be online starting July 10th 2023 and will close August 18th.
When will I be given a Calendar? A calendar will be will be posted on the website once registration beigns.
