The Happy Hearts consists of, but is not limited to, members of St. Bartholomew’s Catholic parish family who are seniors. We are a non-profit, tax exempt, charitable organization. Our purpose is to promote and offer seniors 55 and over an opportunity to meet on the Second Monday of every month.
Our gathering begins with a brief business meeting followed by a delicious pot luck luncheon. Door prize tickets are sold at each meeting. One dollar will buy you a chance for a drawing for one of several prizes we have to offer before we adjourn. We share ideas and important information that is specific to the needs of seniors, in this day and age.
We enjoy taking monthly bus trips, both local and out of town (day trips), to visit historical sites, museums, plays, wineries, restaurants, and other exciting places of interest. Birthdays and anniversaries are recognized during our meetings. Every year, we plan a fun event and a fundraiser.
With the help of fundraising, the Happy Hearts are able to contribute to various non-profits in our area, as well as assist with parish expenses.
We also hold a 50-year anniversary dinner for our members.
Each year, the general membership selects one of our members as the "Outstanding Happy Heart of the Year" at the Archdiocese Senior Recognition Luncheon.
