The Sister to Sister ministry was brought together by prayers and the Holy Spirit working in women who wanted to build a strong relationship with our Heavenly Father and share that love with other women, lifting each other up.
In February 2010 seven women who had decided to answer God’s call and attend an ACTS retreat were all assigned to share the same cabin during the retreat. Never having met before this retreat, they built a strong bond during those four beautiful days. They quickly became aware that while on the retreat they were surrounded by God’s love and had experienced a new energy and excitement in their relationship with the Lord. They dearly hoped to keep that fire alive once they returned to their hectic lives in the world outside of those Holy Grounds. They committed to gathering in each other’s homes to pray together, praise God, and share faith and fellowship. Word got out about these gatherings and the attendance grew.
With God moving in his mysterious ways, he heard the prayers of a couple of women in the parish who felt the need for a women’s group, a Sister to Sister group, in the parish. When they heard about the group that was gathering in homes, they felt their prayers had been answered.
Although brought together during an ACTS retreat, the Sisters saw the need for a place for all women to be able to gather together, pray together, and spiritually support one another through love and in the presence of the Holy Spirit.
This gathering, this Sister to Sister group, opened up to the parish and began meeting at the church on the last Thursday of each month and the blessings continue to flow.
